Boy drowns in a stream in Sullia

Mangaluru: A 12-year-old boy who had been to a stream near Kukkumbala in Aranthod village of Sullia taluk, drowned on Wednesday evening.
The deceased is Manvith Raj from Kankanady in Mangaluru. He had been to his grandmother’s house in Sullia, where he decided to have a bath in a stream, and drowned. The boy reportedly did not know how to swim. A case has been registered at the Sullia police station.
Fish found dead
Fish were found deda in Udane Gundya stream at Konaje village in Kadaba taluk. A forest official who noticed dead fish, suspected that miscreants may have poisoned the water. A case was registered at the Uppinangady police station on Wednesday.
