Bengaluru resident dies in car accident

A

person died

and another suffered

minor injuries

car

collided

with a

roadside culvert

near

Sri Chaudeshwari Temple

Shirady village

under

Uppinangady

police station limits on Thursday. Police identified the victim as Nagaraj Rao K N, 61, a resident of Jalahalli Cross in Bengaluru. Hanumanth Naik, 28, a resident of Ananthpur district in Andhra Pradesh, sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Police said Rao and Naik, who were travelling in a Maruti Swift car, were on their way to Puttur from Bengaluru, when the accident took place. Rao, who was driving the car, veered to the extreme right side of the road, resulting in the car crashing into the culvert. A case has been registered at the Uppinangady police station based on a complaint filed by Naik.
