Shobha has disclosed her assets in the affidavit submitted along with the nomination. As per the affidavit, the gross total value of her movable assets is Rs 7.38 crore. Meanwhile, the gross total value of movable assets she had shown in the affidavit in 2014 was Rs 5.10 crore. Shobha owns gold biscuits (

ingot

) weighing 1,000 grams worth Rs 33.05 lakh and 650 grams of gold ornaments, 1400 grams of silver and 220 grams of silver articles worth Rs 22 lakh. She has shown Rs 1.29 lakh in the cash in hand column of the affidavit.

The BJP leader had disclosed immovable assets worth Rs 2.10 crore in 2014. Meanwhile, in the latest affidavit, she has disclosed the immovable assets worth Rs 3.10 crore. However, she has a liability to the tune of Rs 4.99 crore.

She has seven criminal cases pending against her at various places in the state. She has not been convicted for any criminal offence. Shobha has no income tax or any other tax dues and she has shown the salary from Lok Sabha and returns of investments as her source of income.

After completing BA from St Philomena College in Puttur, Shobha has done Master of Social Work from Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru, and Master of Arts in Sociology through correspondence course. The MP of Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency, Shobha is trying her luck from the same segment for the second time.
