Harikrishna in his complaint to station house officer, Bantwal town PS said few people with a ‘twisted mindset’ have been spreading canards about Poojary’s health though the former union minister is well and residing with his family at Chenamma Kuteer at B C Road in good spirits. Noting that these persons were indulging in a criminal act, Harikrishna urged the police to identify persons behind this act and take legal action against them.
Bantwal town PS SHO said a non-cognizable (NC) report has been registered in this regard and action will be initiated based on guidance given by the superiors. “If a legal case is made out, a case under suitable sections of IT Act and IPC, if they so apply, will be registered,” the officer said, adding any such case will be investigated by an officer at the rank of police inspector – the circle police inspector, Bantwal circle – in this case.
