Art exhibition at Ballal Bagh

Mangaluru: Drishya-Bandhavya, an art exhibition that showcases the works of art produced during an art camp held at Kottigehara village in Chikkamagaluru district in February 2021, was inaugurated at Kodialguthu Centre for Art and Culture, Ballalbagh on Saturday. The art exhibition will be open to the public on all days from 11am to 7pm till June 10.The art camp at Kottigehara village in Chikkamagaluru district was organised by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) Mangaluru Chapter, in association with KP Poornachandra Tejaswi Trust and the department of Kannada and culture, Chikkamagaluru. Dhanalakshmi Ammal, curator of the Shreemanthi Bai Memorial Government Museum, Mangaluru, appreciated the collection of paintings on display, and stressed the collaborative possibilities between the museum, INTACH, and the Art Kanara Trust. Ivan D’Silva of Sahamata, Chikkamagaluru, explained the idea of the art camp held in 2021, and its importance. BC Bapudinesh, artist and member of the KP Poornachandra Tejaswi Trust, expressed interest in organising similar joint ventures in the future. Subhas Chandra Basu, convener of the INTACH Mangaluru Chapter, was present. The participating artists at the exhibition were Harish Kodialbail, Jeevan Salian, Lingaraj, Nayanamrita, Nemiraj Shetty, Rajendra Kedige, Reshma S Shetty, Santhosh Andrade, Satish BR, Sridhar M, Sulochana V, Suresh Chandra Datta, Suresh TD, Wilson Souza and Vishwas M.
