Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan 2013 on September 28

MANGALORE: The Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan 2013 will be held in 58 centres across India on Saturday. In Mangalore, the event will be held at the Town Hall. The sammelan here will feature carnatic classical vocal by Kolkata Padmavathi Saranathan. S Eshwara Varma of Thiruvananthapuram on the violin, Kolkata S Aravind on mrudangam, and N H P Rajarajan of Thiruvananthapuram on the ghatam will accompany Padmavathi Saranathan.
This will be followed by a Hindustani violin recital by Kala Ramanath of Mumbai. Vishwanath Nakod of Bangalore will accompany her on tabla. Vasanth Kumar Perla, head of programming, AIR, Mangalore said leading artistes will perform at 58 centres and programme will be broadcast all over India and also on AIR, Mangalore. Vidushi Kala's programme will be broadcast on October 29 and Vidushi Padmavathi's on December 6, from 10pm to 11pm.
All the concerts at 58 centres will be broadcast from AIR stations across India from October 19 to December 11 from 10pm to 11pm. Vasanth Kumar said the sammelan is organized by director general of AIR and the recitals are recorded by AIR for its collection.
