The First additional District and Sessions court on Friday denied bail to three more persons who were arrested on charges of attacking those who gathered for a birthday party at the Morning Mist home stay in the city on July 28.

MANGALORE: The First additional District and Sessions court on Friday denied bail to three more persons who were arrested on charges of attacking those who gathered for a birthday party at the Morning Mist home stay in the city on July 28.
The accused whose bail was rejected are: Sandeep Shetty, Tharanath Alva and Venugopal. The trio had filed an affidavit before the court, accusing a police officer, whose daughter was among those attacked in the birthday party, of trying to influence the lower court against them.
It may be recalled that on Tuesday last, the court denied bail to 17 of the 24 persons by the same judge G D Narasimhamurthy.

With this, the total number of accused whose bail application has been rejected has gone up to 20.
The 17 whose bail petitions were rejected on Tuesday were: Sharath, Tharanath Kannur, Rajesh, Chethan, Sunil, Harish, Shailesh, Puneeth, Varun Poojary, Kiran Poojary, Suresh Poojary, Mithun Poojary, Sampath, Deepak, Ramesh Kotiyan, Jagadish and Nithin.
Mangalore South assistant commissioner of police T R Jagannath, the investigating officer in the case. The case was argued for the state by public prosecutor Manjunath V Bhat Panne.
