3 Congmen join BJP
Operation Lotus still continues. BJP inducted Congress leaders B N Shankar Poojari, former ZP president and Dhananjaya Amin, former taluk panchayat member and JD(S) leader K G K Achar into their fold on Friday.
The three leaders joined in the presence of party chief D V Sadananda Gowda and home minister V S Acharya on the occasion which marked the opening of the party's election office at Udupi .
The BJP leaders felt that Poojari's inclusion would strengthen their rural base, especially the villages in Brahmavar area. But Congress does not see Poojari's defection as a loss, say sources.
