Palaniswami began his day at Sivakasi in the morning where he campaigned for Virudhunagar’s DMDK candidate Alagarsamy. He also canvassed votes for Krishnasamy, the Pudhiya Tamilagam leader contesting the Tenkasi seat. At Aruppukottai, he sought votes for BJP candidate Nainar Nagendran who is contesting the Ramanathapuram Lok Sabha seat and at Madurai for his party’s candidate V V R Raj Satyan.

Speaking at Pudur in the evening, the CM said that housing for all was on the agenda of the AIADMK government. He said land owners in Madurai were feeling relieved after the AIADMK came to power. On the cable TV issue, he said that the DMK had most of the television channels (40 to be exact) under its control. The party was responsible for the hike in cable TV charges and steps would be taken to reduce it as soon as the BJP and AIADMK won.

Palaniswami said that Stalin was making false allegations against him in the Kodanadu issue when many suspicious deaths had taken place under the DMK regime. ``All those cases of suspicious deaths of people close to the DMK functionaries will be reopened and the truth revealed to the people,’’ he said. The CM asked the people how the DMK which had humiliated a woman during an assembly could protect the women of the state. The members of the DMK spoiled the sanctity of the assembly, which was a sacred place, by dancing on the tables of minister R B Udayakumar and Sellur K Raju and even pulling own the Speaker from his chair, he said, referring to the day when he had to prove his majority in the assembly after being named chief minister.

Only Narendra Modi could offer a stable government at the Centre as it was important for the development and security of the nation, he said. The allies of the BJP were all working on the agenda of reinstating Modi as the Prime Minister of the nation, whereas the opposition was yet to decide on its PM candidate, he said.
