Udhayanidhi will face action for Sanatan remarks if NDA comes to power: Nitin Nabin
Madurai: Nitin Nabin on Sunday said Tamil Nadu deputy chief minister Udhayanidhi Stalin will be the first to face action for his remarks on Sanatan Dharma if the NDA comes to power in the state.
Addressing an election rally in Ramanathapuram district, he accused the DMK government led by M K Stalin of disrespecting religious traditions. He alleged that the practice of lighting the Karthigai deepam at Thiruparankundram had been halted and said, "The time has come for the people to respond to repeated insults to Sanatan traditions and deities."
Nabin criticised Udhayanidhi for comparing Sanatan Dharma to diseases such as dengue and malaria, and targeted Rahul Gandhi for remaining silent on the issue. "He speaks about Sabarimala in Kerala but avoids such issues in Tamil Nadu," he said.
Alleging misgovernance, Nabin said crime and cybercrime had increased in the state and accused the government of failing to act. He also claimed corruption and irregularities had affected livelihoods and contributed to rising unemployment.
Targeting the DMK leadership, he alleged concentration of power within one family. "Leadership has remained confined to a single family, leaving no space for leaders from ordinary backgrounds," he said.
On fishermen issues, Nabin said the Centre under Narendra Modi had ensured the safe return of over 700 fishermen, including several from Ramanathapuram, and continued efforts to bring back those stranded in Sri Lanka.
Urging voters to back the NDA, he promised a development-focused government and said Rameswaram would be developed into a world-class tourist destination.
Earlier, Nabin participated in a roadshow in Sattur in support of BJP state president and candidate Nainar Nagendran and later campaigned in Madurai with K Annamalai for party candidate Raama Sreenivasan.

Udhayanidhi is the jolliest man in India. Also all the DMK people are very happy because the whole judiciary of India is in their pocket. But the DMK has spent billions of rupees on this purchase.Read allPost comment
