TTV slams DMK; claims cash won’t save current regime
Madurai: DMK regime will come to an end in the upcoming election, even if they increase cash distributions from 5,000 to 50,000, said general secretary of AMMK, T T V Dhinakaran, in Madurai on Saturday.Addressing reporters, Dhinakaran launched a scathing attack on the ruling DMK govt. When questioned about the govt's recent disbursement of 5,000 for women under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Scheme, Dhinakaran dismissed the move as a desperate attempt to sway voters.

"Whether they announce 5,000 or even 50,000, it is certain that the DMK's rule will come to an end in the upcoming election. This govt, which is deceiving the people, is in its final stages. From farmers and govt employees to teachers and nurses, every sector is disillusioned. Unemployment among the youth has skyrocketed, and the law and order situation has deteriorated to the point where drugs like ganja are accessible even in schools," he remarked. On the role of O Panneerselvam (OPS) within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Dhinakaran said that it is up to OPS to decide on the path to restore ‘Amma's (former chief minister J Jayalalithaa) rule'.
He noted that true followers of Jayalalithaa are uniting under the NDA to challenge the current regime. He also confirmed that the AMMK would contest under the cooker symbol and that seat negotiations within the alliance would be handled in a dignified manner. When asked if the AMMK would demand a share in power (cabinet positions), he clarified, "We set no conditions for power sharing. I mentioned that it is my wish to see our members as ministers, but there are no mandatory conditions."
