The Thirunagar police registered a case based on a complaint from S Renganayagi of Harveypatti. The accused were identified as R Shakila of Harveypatti, her husband Rajmohan and her son Vijay Anand.

The police said Shakila approached Renganayagi last year promising to get a job for her son. Shakila told Renganayagi that she knew people in the animal husband department and got jobs through them. She collected Rs 3.5 lakh money from Renganayagi but failed to arrange a job.

As repeated attempts to get the money back yielded no result, Renganayagi approached the police on Wednesday. A case was registered under sections 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the IPC.
