Three held for robbing man of his bike

Madurai: Police arrested three men for robbing a 32-year-old man of his two-wheeler at knifepoint near Vadipatti on Friday night.According to the police, B Naveenkumar, of Kattakulam at Vadipatti, was returning home with his mother on a bike around 10pm on Friday. While crossing the Kattakulam junction on Madurai-Dindigul Road, they were waylaid by three men on a two-wheeler. The trio threatened Naveenkumar and his mother at knifepoint and rode away his bike. Based on a complaint, the Vadipatti police registered a case. They managed to identify the men and arrested them within hours after the theft. The arrested were P Arupandi, 20, M Karthick, 20, and P Ashwin, 24, all from Sholavandan.Meanwhile, a burglary was reported near Thirunagar here on Thursday. Police said K Baskaran, 45, had gone out of town with his family on Wednesday. When they returned home on Thursday, they found 8g of gold ornaments and 1.08 cash were missing. tnn
