MADURAI: Thousands of devotes thronged the
Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple
in Madurai on Friday morning to witness the celestial
wedding
of Lord Sundareswarar and Goddess Meenakshi.
Two temple priests enacted the marriage -- Senthilbattar as Lord Sundareswarar and Ganeshbattar as Goddess Meenakshi. There were ceremonies like tying the kappu and exchanging garlands.
Married women changed their mangalsutra on the occasion.
