Thief falls off tree while trying enter Madurai home, house owner sends him to hospital

MADURAI: A thief suffered injuries after he fell off a coconut tree while trying to gain access to a house in Madurai city on Sunday.
Police said K Suresh of Ambedkar Colony near Vilangudi tried to enter the first floor of a house belonging to I Krishnamoorthy of Senthamarai Street in Vilangudi by climbing on a coconut tree on Sunday afternoon. However, he slipped and fell off the tree.
Hearing a noise, Krishnamoorthy and his family members came out and found Suresh screaming in pain.
They informed 108 ambulance service. He was sent to hospital.
It was initially thought that he had fractured one of his legs. However, x-rays proved that there was no fracture.
Later, police arrested him.
