Tamukkam exhibition opens
Madurai: The annual government exhibition at Anna Kalaiarangam, near Tammukkam convention centre, was inaugurated by minister for information and publicity M P Saminathan on Saturday.
The minister announced that the state government earned 3.07 crores from annual government exhibitions held in five cities, including Salem, Trichy, Madurai, Coimbatore, and Tirunelveli, in the current financial year, with 7.40 lakh people visiting the exhibitions across the state.

The Madurai exhibition generated around `55 lakh last year and witnessed a footfall of 1.50 lakh people. “Apart from the revenue, the exhibition helps the government publicize the government schemes and reach more people,” said Saminathan.
More than 27 stalls will be set up by government departments, including school education, Hindu religious and charitable endowments, rural development and panchayat raj, agriculture, police, Aavin, and the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board.
