Tamil Nadu CM announces solatium to kin of 17 who died of electrocution and snakebite

MADURAI

: Chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has announced a relief of Rs 3 lakh each to the families of 17 people, who died due to unnatural causes recently. This includes kin of 15 people, who died of electrocution and two, who died of snake bite. A solatium of Rs 51 lakh will be disbursed from the chief minister’s public relief fund.

R Silambarasan of Usilampatti in Madurai district and P Kaliappan of Kavundipalayam in

Namakkal district

were electrocuted while repairing an electric post; the others include Devasagayam of Nallaperumalpatti in Madurai, P Pechiammal of Melakal in Madurai, L Agniveeran of Ammapatti in Madurai, Senthil of Saruguvalayapatti in Madurai, P Murugan of

Thotanampatti

in Madurai, K Shankar of Vadanerkundram in Villupuram district, M Saminathan of Medavakkam in Chengalpattu district, P Manikandan of Annimangalam in Ariyalur district, Alagarsamy of Paamboor in Ramanathapuram district, S Kishore of Ahdavathur village in

Trichy

district, P Manoharan of Pallur in Ranipet district, P Murugaraj of Kaatuvilai in

Kanyakumari

and A Anthonyammal of Veerattakaram in Kallakurichi district.

The victims, who died of snake bite are S Gokulan from Kakaveri in Namakkal district and K Monisha of Periyachemur in Erode district.
