State-level moot court competition in Madurai

MADURAI: The Madurai bench of the Madras high court Bar Association (MMBA) in association with senior advocate

N Natarajan Charitable Trust

will conduct a state-level moot court competition in Madurai from April 6 to 8 at Pillar Campus.

Talking to reporters president of MMBA, K Samidurai said the event has been designed to foster a greater understanding of criminal law among law students with an added importance to the emerging issues under the Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances Act in India. About 54 students, including 35 girls from 18 government and private law colleges situated in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will participate in the event.

will inaugurate the event, in which advocate general Vijay Narayan and senior advocate

Shanmuga Sundaram

will attend.

Former Madras high court judge K N Basha and present judges of the court T S Sivagnanam, M S Ramesh, Supreme Court advocate

Arvind P Datar

and senior advocate N R Elango will participate in the valedictory function, Samidurai said.
