Southern Railway general manager conducts inspection

MADURAI: Southern Railway (SR) general manager, John Thomas, inspected the Tirunelveli – Nagercoil – Thiruvananthapuram section on Friday. In the Tirunelveli – Sengulam section he inspected the non-interlocked level crossing gate at Sengulam and interacted with the gang staff and also motivated them by declaring awards.
Level crossing No. 116 between Tirunelveli and Sengulam, Nanguneri railway station, railway quarters and traction sub-station, a major bridge between Nanguneri and Valliyoor railway station, track points and crossings at Valliyoor, tunnel at Kuzhithurai – Parassala section and railway station were also inspected.As part of SR’s green initiative projects, rooftop solar power plants were inaugurated at the Nanguneri and Valliyoor railway stations. A rest room for engineering staff, fully powered by solar power, was also inaugurated in the Tirunelveli – Sengulam section.
