Rs 2.47 crore seized in Tirunelveli during poll checks

Tirunelveli: Election flying squads, static surveillance teams, police and Income Tax officials have seized around Rs 2.47 crore in cash from various parties across Tirunelveli district as of Tuesday.According to official sources, the Nanguneri constituency recorded the highest seizure at Rs 1.11 crore, followed by Tirunelveli with Rs 66.26 lakh. Radhapuram reported the lowest seizure at Rs 14.07 lakh, while Ambasamudram accounted for Rs 18.84 lakh. "The seized cash will be returned to the respective owners on submission of valid documents," sources said.
