MADURAI: Trains were short terminated and cancelled after the rail traffic was halted on Pamban Rail Bridge in Tamil Nadu due to inclement weather.
According to a statement from Southern Railway, the changes in pattern of train services were implemented due to red alert at Pamban Bridge following weather conditions.
Train no. 22661 and 16851 Chennai Egmore-Rameswaram Expresses which left Chennai on Thursday and train no 22622 Kanniyakumari-Rameswaram Express which left Kanniyakumari on Thursday were partially cancelled between Mandapam and Rameswaram on arrival at Mandapam on Friday.
Meanwhile, train no. 06652 Rameswaram-Madurai Unreserved SPL scheduled to leave at 5.40am on Friday and train no. 06780 Rameswaram-Madurai SPL scheduled to leave at 6.20am Friday were also cancelled.
