: BJP workers held protests in various places against the hike in property tax, while
CPM cadre submitted a petition to the corporation commissioner urging the authorities to roll back the decision.

staged a protest at Moondrumavadi junction.

submitted a petition to the corporation commissioner stating that the hike in property tax will severely affect commercial establishments and residents recovering from the impact of pandemic. The statement observed that the state government has announced increasing the property tax of houses and commercial establishments ranging from 25% to 150%. The tax hike would burden the people. Besides, the house owners would raise the rents that could affect people living in rented buildings.
