Madurai/Trichy: The state government on Sunday appointed Simranjeet

Singh Kahlon

and Dr R Vaithinathan as commissioners of

Madurai

and Trichy city corporations respectively. V Sivakrishnamurthy will be commissioner of

Tirunelveli

corporation and Anand Mohan of Nagercoil corporations.
Simranjeet Singh Kahlon, who was the regional deputy commissioner (south) of Greater Chennai corporation, takes the place of K P Karthikeyan (in Madurai) who has been transferred and posted as member-secretary of Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority. Dr R Vaithinathan was additional collector (development) and project officer of District Rural Development agency (DRDA), Dharmapuri. Sources said the appointment of an IAS officer as the head of Trichy city corporation has happened after a gap of 11 years. Outgoing commissioner P M N Mujibur Rehman had taken charge in July 2021.
V Sivakrishnamurthy, who was the joint managing director and project director of Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board, will replace B Vishnu Chandran at the Tirunelveli corporation. The latter has been transferred and posted as joint commissioner of municipal administration. Anand Mohan, who was joint commissioner (state taxes), commercial taxes in Coimbatore, takes the place of Asha Ajith in the Nagercoil corporation. She has been appointed as executive director of

Tamil Nadu Industrial Guidance

and Export Promotion Bureau (Guidance).
S Saravanan, who was additional director of rural development and panchayat raj, has been posted as additional collector (development)/project officer of DRDA in Madurai. C A Rishab, who was sub-collector of Periyakulam in Theni district, has been posted as sub-collector of Cheranmahadevi in Tirunelveli district.
