MADURAI: A 30-year-old rowdy from
Alanganallur
was murdered by his friend after the former developed an illicit
relationship
with a woman, who was his friend’s relative. The accused severed the head and carried it to the Alanganallur police station and surrendered.
The murder took place late on Sunday night near a public toilet in Alanganallur. The victim was identified as S
Muthuvel
, an history sheeter and a butcher by profession. The accused has been identified as M
Nagarajan.
Police sources said that Muthuvel continued his relationship despite Nagarajan’s relatives warning him. As the relationship continued, the relatives started ridiculing Nagarajan, who then decided to murder his friend.
Nagarajan took Muthuvel to the public toilet, where the two consumed liqour. When Muthuvel became high, Nagarajan took out a knife and slit open his throat. He cut his head and walked straight to the police station situated close by. TNN
