Madurai city police return recovered mobile phones, gold jewellery to owners
MADURAI: The Madurai city police on Thursday returned recovered stolen or missing mobile phones, laptops, two-wheelers and gold jewellery to their owners.
The police had recovered a total of 253 mobile phones, four two-wheelers, two laptops and 279 sovereigns of gold jewellery.
The mobile phones were traced and recovered by the Madurai city cybercrime police. The gold jewellery was recovered in two major burglary/theft cases recently reported in Madurai city.
Out of the 253 mobile phones recovered, the highest of 87 phones were recovered in Tallakulam range, followed by 73 in Thideer Nagar range, 31 in Anna Nagar range, 17 in Sellur range, 13 in South Gate range, 12 in Temple range, eight in Thiruparankundram range, seven in Avaniyapuram range and five in Thilagar Thidal range.
City police commissioner J Loganathan handed over the recovered items to the owners.
