Lightning strikes dead man on bike

Virudhunagar: A 26-year-old man died after he was struck by lightning while he was going on his two-wheeler here on Friday evening.The deceased was identified as Rajapandi, a resident of Soolakkarai near Virudhunagar. According to police sources, Rajapandi used to supply milk to the houses situated in and around Soolakkarai area. On Friday, after supplying milk, he was returning to Soolakkarai. During the evening hours, there was rainfall with lightning in and around Virudhunagar. When Rajapandi was travelling on the Mathunaickenpatti Road, lightning struck him. Rajapandi died on the spot.Police rushed to the spot and sent his body to the Virudhunagar Government Medical College Hospital for postmortem. The Soolakkarai police have registered a case.
