Ministers and political leaders paid tributes to Immanuel Sekaran at his memorial in Paramakudi of Ramanathapuram district, as they observed the 62nd death anniversary of the freedom fighter on Wednesday. The
Guru Puja passed off smoothly with the leaders and the public proceeding to Paramakudi, complying with rules and regulations.
Revenue minister R B Udayakumar and minister for adidravida and tribal welfare V M Rajalakshmi remembered the leader representing the state government at the memorial state.
After paying tribute, Udayakumar said that chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami to oversease trips were a success as they attracted foreign investment to the tune of Rs 8,800 crore. Earlier, family members of the dalit leader and people from his native village Sellur paid tribute at the memorial. DMK leader MK Stalin, accompanied by MP M K Kanimozhi honoured the leader. While Udayakumar lauded Palaniswami’ for foreign tour, Stalin flayed trh chief minister act saying that he should not have done it when the country was facing economic slowdown. TNN
