Meanwhile, the ban on entry of people into waterfalls and rivers remained in place in Theni, Tenkasi, and Tirunelveli districts. In Virudhunagar, the district administration has banned entry of people into tourist spots such as temples and dams near Western Ghats, including the Sundaramahalingam Swamy Temple on Sathuragiri Hills.

In Madurai city limits, rainfall lasting for more than two hours on Sunday evening inundated various residential areas.

Key roads were also waterlogged. Several subways experienced flooding with water levels reaching 3-4 feet. The steel girder bridge near Ponnagaram in Arapalayam was submerged under more than 6 feet of water, forcing city traffic police to close it for transport.
