‘Ex-wife’ withdraws cases against MP’s husband

Madurai: R Sathyapriya, the woman who claimed to be the wife of B Ramasamy, who married Rajya Sabha MP, Sasikala Pushpa in March this year has withdrawn all cases against Ramasamy. Both parties submitted before the Madurai bench of the Madras high court that they wish to settle their issues amicably and would withdraw all cases - criminal and matrimonial they had filed against each other.

Justice G R Swaminathan took note of their submissions and directed the police to close all pending cases relevant to their petitions and submit a report before the judicial magistrate.

Sathyapriya of Keerathurai here submitted petitions before the district collector and police after it was announced that Ramasamy, with whom she has a child, was set to marry expelled AIADMK leader, Pushpa.

Sathyapriya had also filed dowry harassment case against Ramasamy. In her petitions, she had stated that they got married in 2014 and things turned sour after she informed him in 2016 that she gave birth to a girl child. Sathyapriya had also alleged that Ramasamy, at the time of marriage lied to her that he was a judge in New Delhi.

Meanwhile, despite a family court staying the wedding of Ramasamy and Pushpa, the two got married at a hotel in New Delhi in March.
