Elangovan blames EC for Jaya's victory

MADURAI: Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president EVKS Elangovan said the election commission and chief electoral officer Sandeep Saxena acted like an AIADMK functionary during RK Nagar by-poll and helped the chief minister to win the election.
Speaking to the media in Madurai, he said the Congress vice- president Rahul Gandhi will come down to the State to celebrate Kamarajar's centenary celebrations.
He said his party would stage demonstrations against the election commission for its role in Jayalalithaa's bypoll victory.
He added the state government should take immediate steps to reduce the metro rail fares as many commuters have complaint about it.
