Madurai: E-Seva centres in the city that act as a front-end delivery point for the government through which rural people can obtain certificates for various needs, have delivered over 4.12 lakh revenue certificates of various types in the past five years.
There are 302 e-seva centres in Madurai, of which 18 are operated by the Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation, 132 by Primary Agriculture Co-operative credit societies, 144 by village poverty alleviation association and eight by village entrepreneurship promotion centres. Various certificates like income, nativity, community, no graduate, deserted woman, agricultural income, family migration, widow, unemployment, birth or death, online patta/chitta and online patta transfer among others have been disbursed through these centres.
New type of certificates including small and micro-farmer certificates, mixed marriage certificates, loss of educational certificates due to natural calamities, unmarried certificates, solvency certificates and pawn broker licences have also been distributed to the people through these centres between March 1, 2018 and June 13, 2019. Beneficiaries said the process has been made very easy ever since they were able to get the certificates through centres.
