DMK govt’s intentions on online rummy ban suspect: Annamalai

Madurai: BJP state president K Annamalai has said that the DMK government’s reluctance to make corrections to the bill banning online rummy and instead passing it again and again in the assembly raise doubts about the government’s real intentions.He told reporters at Madurai airport on Friday that the state BJP is fully with the government on banning online rummy but the governor has been returning the bill asking the government if the bill is violating the SC verdict or the Constitution. “But the DMK government keeps passing the bill without making any changes. The bill will definitely be stayed if online gambling companies approach the court,” he said. This attitude of the government raises doubts whether DMK ministers have nexus with online gambling companies, he said. Annamalai said that he discussed ways to accelerate the growth of BJP in Tamil Nadu during his recent meeting with Amit Shah. The parliament committee of the party and senior leaders will decide on the coalition for the Lok Sabha elections. He said he has nothing against any party leader in the state and they all wanted BJP to grow like AIADMK. The coalition with AIADMK is constructive and they need not be thinking alike in all situations. Our stand on three language policy, NEET and online rummy is different, he said.He said the BJP will take up dairy farmers’ protest in Tamil Nadu as the minister “lives in his own dream world” even as farmers are struggling with low procurement prices.
