Dindigul police rescue disabled man stuck in muddy road

Dindigul: A man with disabilities from Karnataka was rescued by the Dindigul district police early Monday morning, after being stranded for nearly seven hours. His three-wheeler got stuck in the mud near Samuthiram Kanmai (tank) close to Batlagundu during Sunday night's rain.The man, identified as M Parasuramar, 25, from Mangalore, Karnataka, is a Sabarimala Ayyappa devotee. He was returning home after visiting Sabarimala in his three-wheeler. Around 7 pm on Sunday, while crossing M Vadipatti near Batlagundu, he attempted to take a shortcut using Google Maps, straying off the national highway. He eventually reached the Samuthiram Kanmai area, where his vehicle became stuck on a muddy road.As it was late at night and raining, the area was deserted, and Parasuramar was unable to get help. After several hours of unsuccessful attempts to free his vehicle, he contacted the Karnataka police through his mobile phone. The Karnataka police immediately informed the Tamil Nadu police control room about the situation.Responding promptly, the Batlagundu and Pattiveeranpatti police located Parasuramar and rescued him around 2 am on Monday. He was provided food and shelter for the night, and his three-wheeler was recovered from the mud the following morning.The Dindigul police ensured his safe departure back to Mangalore.
