Couple among three killed in Madurai road accidents

MADURAI: Three people, including a couple, died in two road accidents in Madurai on Sunday night.
A Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus mowed down a couple travelling on a two-wheeler on the New Natham Main Road. The deceased have been identified as K Mohammed Ghani, 51, and his wife, Parveen Banu, 49.
The Tallakulam traffic investigation wing police registered a case against TNSTC bus driver P Ganesan (39) of Chellampatti who drove the vehicle in a rash and negligent manner.
R Muthukumar, 21, of Sellur, who was riding on a two-wheeler near Tallakulam, was crushed to death by a truck. The accident happened around 11 30pm.
The police registered a case against truck driver C Alagumurugan.
