CM opens new women police hostel in Madurai

Madurai: Chief minister M K Stalin inaugurated a four-storey hostel building via videoconferencing for women police personnel in Madurai on Friday.The 109-bedded facility spread across 17,000sqft is located near the Tallakulam police station. It was constructed by the Tamil Nadu Police Housing Corporation (TNPHC) at Rs 7.12 crore. A senior police officer said earlier it was hard to accommodate women personnel who arrived in Madurai for various official purposes. Now, they have comfortable accommodation in the centre of the city. Deputy commissioners S Madhivanan, A G Inigo Thivyan, S Vanitha, and other police officers were present at the event.
