MADURAI: Corporation commissioner, R Nanthagopal has placed a clerk working at the Sundararajapuram higher secondary school under suspension, for abusing a female school teacher in filthy language.
R Mathialaguraj, chief educational officer, Madurai corporation said the commissioner received a complaint from the school teacher that V Muthu, a record clerk working in the school used filthy language against her during an argument that took place in the first week of January.

The issue was taken up by fellow teachers who made a representation to the corporation commissioner on January 22.
Even as the CEO was conducting an inquiry into the matter, a direction from the chief minister's cell reached the commissioner urging him to inquire into the issue. During the inquiry conducted by the commissioner, it was found that Muthu was guilty of abusing the female teacher in the presence of other teachers when a dispute between them broke out, the CEO said.
