Cash prizes announced for DMK workers if OPS wins

Theni: Bodinayakkanur constituency DMK candidate O Panneerselvam and Theni MP and Theni North district secretary Thanga Tamil Selvan have announced cash prizes to DMK's booth-level workers if they ensure OPS' win by a thumping majority in the upcoming assembly election.Addressing a meeting organised for the party's booth level assistants (BLA, BLA-2), BDA workers on Friday, Thanga Tamil Selvan announced the workers in the booth where OPS secures the highest number of votes will receive a cash prize of 1 lakh. This apart, workers in the booths where OPS secures more votes than the opposition candidate will be given gifts. Panneerselvam also announced that workers in the booth that secures the highest number of votes would receive 1 lakh from him, taking the total reward to 2 lakh. He also said that the union secretary in charge of the booth which secures the highest number of votes will be awarded a five-sovereign gold shield. The announcement was made to energise the booth-level workers to intensify their campaign efforts at the grassroots level.
