MADURAI: Four members of a family from Kollam in Kerala were killed in a car-mini truck crash near Subbulapuram here on Saturday.
Three others--two women passengers of the car and the truck driver--were injured in the head-on collision that occurred near Thathankulam diversion at 11.15am.
T Kallupatti police identified the deceased as Noorjahan, 21, Kadeeja, 55, Feroze and S Sajith, 25, hailing from Kolloorvila, Pallimmukku.Sajith was driving the car.

The injured, Fatima and Ayesha, both aged 21, were initially taken to Thirumangalam government hospital and later shifted to a private hospital in Madurai, where their condition was stated to be stable.
Truck driver Muthiah from Nagamalai Pudukottai in Madurai was admitted to Peraiyur government hospital with head injuries.
Police said the family was travelling to Arvind Eye Hospital in Madurai. When the car approached Thathankulam diversion near M Subbulapuram, it collided with a mini-truck going to Rajapalayam from Madurai.
Noorjahan, 21, Kadeeja, 55 and Feroze died on the spot while Sajith died on way to the Peraiyur government hospital.

Police said the bodies were sent to Usilampatti government hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered by T Kallupatti police.
The truck was used for ferrying materials to textile mills and it was empty when the accident happened.Muthiah have been booked under Section IPC 304 A for causing death by negligence.
Senior police officers from Madurai visited the scene and cleared the traffic which was affected for a while.
