The injured, Fatima and Ayesha, both aged 21, were initially taken to Thirumangalam government hospital and later shifted to a private hospital in Madurai, where their condition was stated to be stable.

Noorjahan, 21, Kadeeja, 55 and Feroze died on the spot while Sajith died on way to the Peraiyur government hospital.
Police said the bodies were sent to Usilampatti government hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered by T Kallupatti police.
The truck was used for ferrying materials to textile mills and it was empty when the accident happened.Muthiah have been booked under Section IPC 304 A for causing death by negligence.
Senior police officers from Madurai visited the scene and cleared the traffic which was affected for a while.
