1,100 residents screened at medical camp
Madurai: Around 1,100 people were screened during a special medical camp conducted under the Ayushman Bhav scheme at Sellur PHC, with the assistance of corporation doctors and Velammal Hospital doctors. Mayor Indrani Ponvasanth inaugurated the one-day camp on Saturday, during which dental, ENT, intestinal, blood pressure, diphtheria, bone, and joint issues were treated and screened.
Special screening was also provided to 77 tuberculosis patients, and 13 patients were screened for skin-related issues.

The mayor also inspected the nutritional assistance programme provided to pregnant women. An awareness program on organ donation was conducted at the camp. Corporation commissioner K J Praveen Kumar and city health officer Vinoth Kumar attended the camp.TNN

Medica Superspecialty Hospital, Woodlands Hospital, Desun Hospital, Peerless Hospital, and AMRI Hospitals have all either reopened or started fever clinics to manage the influx of dengue patients. The hospitals are prioritizing patients based on the severity of their symptoms and capacity limitations.
