Two arrested with Rs 55 lakh in Ludhiana

LUDHIANA: Khanna police on Wednesday arrested two persons after Rs 55 lakh in cash was recovered from their car near Alour on the GT Road in Khanna.
Uttar Pradesh natives Pardeep Kumar and Harish Kumar were arrested at a checkpost, said Khanna DSP Deepak Rai. While checking the vehicles, police got suspicious about the occupants of Maruti Brezza bearing a UP registration number.
He said they stopped the vehicle and found Rs 55 lakh in it. As the accused could not explain the source of money, they were arrested and handed over to the investigation wing of the income tax department.
