LUDHIANA: The department of veterinary surgery and radiology, GADVASU, under the aegis of centre of advanced faculty training (CAFT), ICAR, organized a national-level advanced training course on diagnostic and surgical procedures in veterinary patients from February 18 to March 10.
Dr NS Saini, director of CAFT, said a total of 18 applications were received from across the country for the training course out of which, 12 candidates were selected from 8 states.
The participants were trained on latest techniques in veterinary practice like computerized radiography, ultrasonography and ultrasound guided biopsy procedures for animals, surgical management of diaphragmatic hernia in buffaloes, surgery of persistent right aortic arch in dogs, laparoscopy, urolithiasis in dogs and cattle etc.
Lectures on various surgical and diagnostic techniques were also organized. Eminent radiologist Dr SS Bakshi from Delta Heart Imaging Center, Ludhiana, delivered a lecture on clinical relevance of MRI.
Dr J Mohindroo, associate professor in veterinary surgery and radiology also gave a lecture.
Dr KS Sandhu, dean postgraduate studies and coordinator of the centre was chief guest and gave away certificates to trainees on the concluding function.
