‘Thief’ at house of judicial magistrate

Ludhiana: A man, suspected to be a thief, barged into the house of judicial magistrate Anubha Jindal in Officers’ Colony near Old Session Chowk on Monday. He escaped after a peon saw him and raised the alarm.
The Division 8 police have lodged an FIR against the man on the statement of ASI Jaswinder Pal, who is deputed in the security of the judicial magistrate. Investigating officer ASI Sahib Singh said, “The case has been lodged under sections 455 (lurking house-trespass or house-breaking after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint), 380 (theft in dwelling house), 382 (theft after preparation made for causing death, hurt or restraint in order to the committing of the theft) and 511 (attempt to commit offences) of the IPC.” TNN
