Terrorists traitors to nation, Islam: Muslim leaders in Ludhiana after Delhi attack.
Ludhiana: The national president of Jamaat Majlis Ahrar Islam Hind and Punjab's Shahi Imam, Maulana Muhammad Usman Rahmani Ludhianvi, led a public protest in this city on Friday to condemn the recent terrorist attack near the Red Fort in Delhi and denounce the perpetrators as "traitors".
The demonstration, held in Field Ganj after Friday prayers, saw the burning of an effigy as a symbol against terrorism. Maulana Ludhianvi, whose organisation participated in India's freedom struggle, declared that the attack was "shameful". He has asserted that terrorists are traitors not only to the country but also to Islam, stating that terrorist organisations are attacking innocent, unarmed people in the name of Islam. "This makes it evident that these unholy people conspiring against India are also conspiring against Islam," he said.
The Shahi Imam emphasised that Islam strictly forbids attacks on any unarmed, innocent, or common citizens under any circumstances. He questioned the identity of those who "repeatedly rain bombs and bullets on unarmed people" while claiming Muslim names, highlighting the contradiction with religious teachings. Maulana Ludhianvi stressed the crucial point that terrorism has no religion. He noted that individuals arrested for terrorist activities across the country came from diverse backgrounds and didn't belong to a single faith.
He urged social media users to exercise caution, stating that "targeting any one religion or community with hatred after any terrorist attack is wrong". The Shahi Imam called on the central govt to take swift and strict action against those involved in terrorist activities to send a clear message to "traitors".
Maulana Ludhianvi belongs to a family of freedom fighters noted for opposing Pakistan during the country's Partition, and his organization, Jamaat Majlis Ahrar Islam Hind, campaigned not only for independence but specifically against "country's traitors" during the struggle. He concluded by requesting Muslims across the country to raise their voices against terrorism and actively work to make society aware of anti-social elements attempting to link the faith with extremist acts.
