Tailor, 24, falls off third floor of his house, dies

Ludhiana: A 24-year-old man died after falling from the third floor of his house in Jodhewal early on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Puleen Nath, a tailor who hailed from Assam.

Puleen, along with his cousin Kangan Jyoti Das, was sleeping on the rooftop of his rented accommodation.

Das told the police, “After dinner, we went upstairs to sleep. Around 1.30am Puleen woke up to go to the washroom. But he fell off the building. I was roused by his screams and took him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.”

Jodhewal police station assistant sub-inspector Nirwail Singh said, “The post-mortem will reveal if he was drunk. We have initiated proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC.”
