The 347th Aagman Purab birth anniversary of the tenth and last Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, founder of Khalsa Panth was celebrated with full fervor at Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, on Saturday. The Arambh of Sahaj Path Sahib was organized at the college Gurdwara Sahib and bhog of Shri Sahaj Path Sahib concluded on Saturday.
The event started with prayers of Chaupai Sahib followed by "kirtan" by the students of the department of music. Sangat was enlightened with the deep core meanings of life and spirituality with "shabad vichar".
To mark the event, competitions of Gurbani Shudh Ucharan and Gurbani Kanth, prior to the day were held within the college campus. The students were given away prizes and were motivated to both read and understand and also to apply "Bani" in their daily life. Manmeet (BCA III) and Harleen Kaur (MA I) won the first prize, Lakhwinder (BAII) stood second while Jaspreet Kaur (BA I) and Amrit Kaur (BBA I) bagged the third place in "Gurbani Shudh Ucharan". Harleen Kaur (MA I) stood first, followed by Jasmeet Kaur and Jasleen Kaur (B Com III) in the second place and Amrit Kaur (BBA I) won the third prize in "Gurbani Kanth Competition". Pawanmmeet (B Com II) and Lakhwinder (BA III) won the consolation prizes for the same. The students and the teachers of the college brought rasat and prepared langar.
