LUDHIANA: Punjabi cine stars are all chipping in with their contributions to provide new dimensions to regional cinema. After Harbhajan Mann and Jimmy Shergil, Jivida Astha and Vivek Shauq were in the city on Thursday to promote cinema at a local school.
Jivida told TOI, We are here to convey the message, especially to youngsters, that Punjabi cinema is no way inferior to any Bollywood movie and we want more youngsters to understand this.
Although people here very talented, we want to inspire the youths to join local film industry. There is so much scope here and, we, being from Punjabi background, want to take it to new heights. She added Mini Punjab an animation movie they wanted to show how movie-making techniques being used in Mumbai were also being utilized here.
Meanwhile, excited schools students sought autographs from the two stars.
