Servant stole from BJP leader, now held: Cops

LUDHIANA: Police claim to have solved a case of burglary at the Mall Road house of Bharatiya Janata Party’s Harkesh Mittal with the arrest of his domestic help of last 17 years. The servant is accused of stealing Rs 10.32 lakh cash with the help of his brother.

Accused servant Raj Kumar is from Samastipur in Bihar, while his brother, Ajay Kunar, is yet to be arrested. Additional deputy commissioner of police-III Shubham Agarwal said that on July 7, Harkesh Mittal’s son Vishu had found his almirah open and the cash missing along with the CCTV recorder. On July 20 Mittal stated that he had overhead the servant talking to his mother on call about the money. Raj accepted he had called his brother and given him the cash. TNN
