Scrap dealer selling stolen vehicles caught

Ludhiana: CIA-1 of Ludhiana police commissionerate arrested a scrap dealer for accepting and selling stolen vehicles on Friday. Police also recovered 12 two-wheelers, including scooters and motorcycles from his possession.
The arrested accused has been identified as Harminder Singh of Chandar Nagar, who runs a scrap shop in the area. Investigating officer, ASI Sukhdeep Singh of CIA-1 said the accused accepted stolen bikes and scooters from miscreants, after which he would replace numberplates of the stolen vehicles with fake ones and sell the vehicles.
“Police conducted a raid at the scrap shop and recovered 12 vehicles. The accused is being questioned to ascertain from where he bought the stolen vehicles from,” said ASI Sukhdeep Singh.
A case has been registered against him under different sections.
