School bus driver assaulted after running pet dog over in Ludhiana village.

Ludhiana: Khanna police have booked four men for allegedly assaulting and injuring a school bus driver after his vehicle accidentally ran over and killed a pet dog in Kacha Machhiwara village.The victim, Didar Singh (58) of Bhorla Bet, told police that the dog suddenly ran under the rear tire of his bus on Tuesday morning while he was on his route to pick up students. Though he stopped and saw the dog was dead, onlookers initially told him to leave.Later, after picking up a child from a neighboring village, the bus was surrounded by three of the accused: Lovepreet Singh, Saurav Rana, and Manpreet Singh. They allegedly vandalized the bus, forcibly pulled Singh out by his turban, and beat him with sticks. The assailants then allegedly forced him onto a motorcycle and drove him to their village, where the fourth accused, Gaurav Rana, joined in the assault.The accused fled only after people gathered. An unknown person called Singh's brother, who transported him to Civil Hospital Machhiwara Sahib, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Area bus drivers and farmer organization representatives visited Singh to demand strict action against the four accused.
